Bad things come in threes…
Well, last nights ride certainly didn’t help. Whist crossing a plank over a stream in Delamere, I misjudged it and didn’t get the rear wheel onto the plank, which then dropped into the stream, pulling me with it. I tried to get hold of a post to stop me falling over, but my fingers slipped off the mossy surface and splosh, down I went, on my back in a stinky, cold bog.
Shortly after that, it became apparent that something was amiss with my rear gears, as any effort caused the chain to merrily skip all over the cassette and there was about four gears worth of slack in the cable. Rear mech looked a bit suspect too. I decided at that point to cut my ride short and go wait in the van for the others - ho hum, sometimes it’s like that.
Wait - that’s only two things I hear you say. Well, yes - upon arriving home, I find an email from a guy who’s decided he can’t wait another couple of days for an overdue Spot to turn up, so he wants to cancel his order - leaving a £2500 pile of bits that we’ve ammassed for it to go back on the shelf. That pretty much guarantees the Spot delivery (which left the US on 9th February) will arrive today.

i won’t slag off a customer here, but surely if you order a Spot you’re already resigned to having to wait quite a while for it?
Like when you order a Santa Cruz

Waiting for a Santa Cruz is a whole different ball game

There’s more to it than just a delayed timescale it seems. I just spoke to him and some personal financial issues have unexpectedly popped up.
Such is life.

Chin up Tim that should be all your bad luck out the way for the year so you can now throw caution to the wind for a whole 10 months.

It could have been worse. You could have landed on your front. On the car keys in your breast pocket.
