Sideways Cycles

To all the folk who joined us for the Xmas ride last night. 17 or so people, only one terminal mechanical (get the chainring sorted Sue) and yet more new trails thanks to Delamere Dodd.

Here’s to more fun rides in 2006.

Ace – two days before Christmas and the stupid PDQ (credit card processing) machine has died. PSU is giving no output. I call the helpline and the first person tells me to ‘take the module off the unit, then re-fit it after 20 minutes’ ‘O.K.’ says I ‘That’s sure to fix the output of the power supply’. Funnily enough it didn’t actually achieve anything, so another call this time gets the response I wanted to hear ‘We’ll get a new machine to you in the morning’.

So instead of being able to take any money today, I’ve been Christmas shopping. Boy that was fun.
Not.

Well, not really, but I do have a knee brace, after deciding against surgery to replace my snapped ACL. It’s quite comfortable too. I’m supposed to go and see what I can actually do now, without my leg giving way. Running, snowboarding, and martial arts are all on the cards – yippee. Hope the damn thing works, I need to shift about 45lbs of excess weight (after Christmas).

Look out for a svelte new me sometime in the new year.

Thursdays ride (22nd December 2005) will be the fabulous Winter Wonderland ride at Delamere. Pies, alcohol, ‘ho’s and beyatches, tinsel, lights and all usual stuff. Hopefully the guys from Alty Bike Shak will turn up this year too.

Come along and join the fun. Meeting at the usual place at 19:30, or maybe a bit earlier, if you want.

After much hoo-ing and ha-ing, we’ve finally got a hold of some Speedball posts. They’re great – buy one.

The name possibly comes from a slang term for an intravenous dose of cocaine mixed with heroin or an amphetamine. You know, like an upper and downer all in one package 🙂

I’m still not riding, but call us up and we can get a ride fixed up somewhere – next week however, will be the Winter Wonderland Ride at Delamere, yay!

Tonights ride will also be Delamere, but not as we know it. Meet at the usual place, but no later than 19:20 – you’ll be driving to a different venue…
